Equity Capital Markets 

CIMB Islamic deploys the power of its robust regional equities distribution platform for the benefit of its Corporate and Institutional clients in the region. We primarily focus on equity capital raising on major Asian stock exchanges including Malaysia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia and India.We strive to meet our clients’ equity financing needs across Asia, by structuring and arranging innovative primary and secondary market transactions. Our product suite includes Initial Public Offerings (IPOs), pre-IPO equity fund raising, placements, block trades, top-up placements, rights issues and private investment in public enterprises.

We have a strong and extensive distribution network. Our global sales force is based across most major markets of Asia, and our specialist sales desks in London and New York give us access to over 1,000 top-tier institutional investors.

Initial Public Offerings

Having worked on numerous award-winning deals, including some of the largest Initial Public Offerings in Asia Pacific, our team offers deep expertise in the structuring and distribution of IPOs globally.

Debt Capital Markets

We help sovereign and corporate clients across the region raise funding in the financing and sukuk (Islamic Bond) markets. We have local expertise in the region’s sukuk markets, syndicated financing markets, commercial papers, medium term notes programme, Islamic capital markets, convertible sukuk, asset-backed securities, derivatives and structured finance markets.

Our research team has an extensive coverage in Asia of over more than 1000 companies, placing CIMB amongst the Top 10 in terms of the coverage universe.  We help facilitate access to investors by hosting over 200 non-deal road shows and 10 conferences annually.

Our debt capital markets unit originates, structures and executes Shariah-compliant multi-currency fixed income products including convertible sukuk and project financing sukuk for regional and local transactions. Our expertise extends to managing consent solicitation exercises and rating advisory. We have an in-house rating advisory team, highly experienced in dealing with both local and international rating agencies.

Fixed Income Syndicate

Our fixed income syndicate team has in-depth technical knowledge and experience in sukuk markets, convertible sukuk structures, derivatives and Shariah-compliant finance in G3 and Asian currency markets. We work closely with the origination teams to structure, price, underwrite and syndicate their products.

Securitisation and Structured Finance

We originate, structure and execute hybrid securities- namely Tier 1 and Tier 2 capital instruments for financial institutions and corporate hybrids or perpetual capital securities for corporates. We also undertake securitisation transactions for various asset classes including home financing, autofinancing, sukuk, property and government receivables, and Shariah-compliant.

Financing Markets & Syndication

We originate, structure and execute corporate and structured financing. We tailor a wide range of Shariah-compliant products according to our clients’ needs, in all major currencies.

We have strong distribution networks and relationships with key investors, primarily banks and financial institutions in Asia, the Middle East and Europe. We also provide secondary financing sourcing and distribution services.

Project Finance

Our dedicated regional project finance team are experts in limited and non-recourse transactions. We can advise you on project bids and tenders, cashflow modelling, negotiations on project agreements and financial structuring to optimise project financing plans.
