23 March 2020

CIMB Group Holdings Berhad (“CIMB Group” or “CIMB” or the “Group”) would like to confirm that two of its employees, based in Jalan Dato’ Bandar Tunggal, Seremban branch, have tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. Both employees had recently returned from a personal trip to Indonesia and had been in home quarantine since 19 March 2020 after returning to Malaysia.  The members of staff are currently being treated at a government hospital.

As a precaution, a thorough sanitisation and deep cleaning of the branch is being carried out. All those in direct contact with the affected employees have also been placed under home quarantine until given the appropriate medical clearance. Contact tracing to identify all others with direct contact with the employees, is also being conducted.

The branch will be closed temporarily to facilitate the above. CIMB encourages customers to use our online services but should customers need to visit a branch they are advised to proceed to the nearest branch located at Seremban 2 and Senawang.

CIMB has business continuity plans in place for both Head Office and branches to ensure continuation of essential services. The Group had earlier implemented several precautionary measures to ensure the well-being of customers and staff, which include a mandatory travel declaration policy, hygiene and social distancing measures at both Head Office and branches.

CIMB is monitoring the situation closely and further updates will be provided as necessary.

We would like to reassure the public and our customers that there is no disruption to our daily operations, or services at most of our branches. Customers may check https://www.cimbbank.com.my/en/personal/support/locate-us.html for further details.
