2020

CIMB Islamic was the first bank to introduce Islamic Collateralised Commodity Murabahah ("CCM"), an innovative solution that provides liquidity for the Islamic financial ecosystem. 

 

MicroBizReady was launched to promote financial inclusion targeting entrepreneurs and micro businesses to equip them with critical business skills to grow.

 

2021

CIMB Islamic launched iTEKAD CIMB Islamic Rider Entrepreneur Programme, a social finance programme to provide job opportunities during the COVID-19 by providing motorcycle grants and one-year contract as FoodPanda rider.  

 

CIMB Bank and CIMB Islamic launched the CIMB OctoSavers Savings Account-i; an all-digital Islamic account where the account opening and onboarding process is self-executed entirely online.

 

2022

CIMB Bank and CIMB Islamic rolled out the CIMB Auto Dealer App, a mobile application that enables automotive loan/financing approval within one minute  upon full submission of required documents. 

 

2023

CIMB Islamic launched a specially tailored modules for the sixth edition of Program Keusahawanan CIMB Islamic – Taylor’s involving home-bakers from the underserved communities.

 

CIMB Islamic recognised as Best Islamic Bank in Malaysia by the IFN Best Banks Poll 2022 for seventh consecutive year. 

 

CIMB Islamic extended the iTEKAD Rider Entrepreneur Programme by collaborating with respective state Islamic religious councils:

  • Pahang
  • Sarawak 
  • Sabah 
  • Melaka 

 

2024

In conjunction with CIMB’s 100th anniversary, CIMB Islamic and CIMB Foundation committed RM1.8 million towards the Harapan Ramadan 2024 programme which benefited over 34,000 beneficiaries from the underserved communities at more than 100 locations nationwide. Total of 650 CIMB staff volunteered in the programme.
